Hi,
I am having a very basic question here. I am connecting to my Client's Citrix servers at onshore location through Citrix presentation server client & Citrix Receiver application which is installed in my local desktop. Should i need a separate client license for installing the Citrix client application in my desktops? i can download the Citrix Client free from Citrix site. So what is the category of Citrix client application? does it comes under Freeware category? if not what license should i have for license compliance.

Some days ago I have installed xenserver 6.2 free in my server.

When I requested the free license I got an mail which says:

'Please note that the version of XenServer which this license applies is considered a legacy version. New installations are strongly encouraged to use the latest XenServer, which is currently XenServer 6.5. XenServer 6.5 is available free of charge, and without an annual license renewal requirement, by downloading XenServer from http://xenserver.org.'

So, I uninstall the 6.2 version and installed the 6.5 version.

Now, when I enter into the license manager (as shown in the attached figure) the 'activate free xenserver' is grayed out or disabled.

I have tried using the xencenter version that I downloaded from the same page of the xenserver iso, but it don't works.

I have tried accessing the ip address of the server and downloading the xencenter version, but the problem is the same. I CAN NOT GET A FREE LICENSE.

So my question is: why can I not get the free license for my xenserver version?

The email from citrix says it is free. It means that I can work with my server with out any problem?

or my virtual machines will stop at any moment because of will require a license at future?
